Cyfarthfa Park, 160 Acres Of Parkland

A great day out for all the family!

With spectacular views of the Brecon Beacons, Cyfarthfa Park provides a great day out for the whole family, come rain or shine!

The Grade II Listed park is set in 160 acres of parkland and has something for everyone, from relaxing sensory gardens and woodland walks, to an exciting state-of-the-art Splash Pad and Playground.

The woodland walks and nature rambles are accessible and will introduce you to the variety of animal, bird and plant species that make Cyfarthfa Park so special.

The park is also a fantastic event destination and frequently plays host to events such as horse shows, craft demonstrations, concerts, charity events and fun run.

Please Note: Drones are not permitted to be flown within the grounds of Cyfarthfa Park without prior written consent by either WellbeingMerthyr and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council.

Eating & Drinking

Caffi Canolfan by Darganfod Catering is situated within the Splash and Play Park. The newly refurbished Caffi offers a varied menu with a range of light bites, main meals, Afternoon Teas, and more! There is something for everyone.

Dogs are welcome at the Caffi Canolfan – but must be kept on a lead.

Miniature Railway

The railway is situated in the idyllic surroundings of Cyfarthfa Park. The railway has been operating in Cyfarthfa Par since 1987 and is run by the Merthyr Tydfil and District Model Engineering Society.

Splash & Play

Set in the beautiful grounds of Cyfarthfa Park, our state-of-the-art Splash Park and Playground is perfect for a family day out!

The Splash Park is an interactive play facility which provides hours of fun and promotes safe water play for children of all ages and abilities. It’s location within eye-shot of the CanolfanCafé gives parents the peace of mind being able to watch their children play whilst relaxing in the café.

The Splash Park is open seasonally: April – August from 11am Daily

The Playground includes swings, climbing frames and slides, perfect for children of all ages and abilities.

The Playground is open all year-round.
