We have two Leisure Centres convieniently located within the County Borough.
Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Centre is situated at Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Village just outside of the town centre and just off the A470. Aberfan and Merthyr Vale Community Centre is situated at the loer end of the valley in the heart of Aberfan.
Swimming
As well as being fun, swimming is a great way to keep fit that suits all abilities.
Exercise Classes
We offer an extensive range of weekly group exercise classes from low to high intensity workouts.
Gym
Our fitness suites and free weights rooms offer a wide range of cardio, resistance and functional training.

We offer an extensive range of weekly group exercise classes from low to high intensity workouts.
In line with the Covid19 guidelines for Wales, we are offering our customers a temporary indoor group exercise timetable.
There are classes at both Merthyr and Aberfan Centres.
All centre run classes are FREE for monthly memberships and £4 per-class for pay-as-you-go.
Classes are bookable 7 days in advance either by calling, online or through our app (iScuba).
Spaces are limited so make sure you book well in advance.
We recommend that you bring plenty of water to keep you hydrated during classes
Gyms
Our fitness suites and free-weights rooms offer a wide range of cardio, resistance and functional training. We have two gyms and two free-weights rooms located at Merthyr Leisure Centre and Aberfan Community Centre.
Our fitness suites are well equipped, modern, air-conditioned and - with our user-friendly environment - the best places to start your fitness regimes!
Our free-weights rooms are away from the main fitness suites and are an open, well-lit environment offering a superb range of equipment for a thorough weight training programme.
Our friendly staff are on-site and are fully qualified to offer you an induction to show you how to use the equipment safely, as well as offer advice on how to achieve the results you’re aiming for!
