Pointillism is a drawing technique which involves layering individual dots to build images. You will experiment with the different textures you can create with pointillism and work on a piece to take home.

Summer Rock Painting at Caffi Canolfan – Cyfarthfa Park

Join us for some wholesome family rock painting creativeness at the Caffi Canolfan (adjacent to the Splash Park) at Cyfarthfa Park!

Everything you need is provided, please remember to bring something to carry your artwork home:
Rocks
Acrylic paint pens
Pencils, erasers
Guidance and tuition if needed

Open to all ages! Children are required to be accompanied by a responsible adult. There is no need to book for a non-participating accompanying adult.

Make Your Own Roman Pot!

Take a look at the Roman collection at the museum before getting your hands dirty creating a Roman pinch pot out of air-drying clay.

Drop-in workshops run from 10:00am-12:00pm & 1:00pm-3:00pm. There’s no need to book, waiting times can vary. Suitable for children of all ages.

*Most family workshops are free unless a cost a specified, but standard entrance fees apply for over 16’s for all workshops

Meadows and other grasslands are incredibly important for our insects, they use them for feeding, breeding, hibernating, and shelter. Declines in this habitat are having serious knock-on effects on our insect populations but we can help them by creating more meadows around us.

Join us as we explore the diverse insect life found within meadows and discuss how best to manage these habitats for pollinators and other insects.
