Dathliad o Beintiadau Cyfoes Cymreig
Y drydedd arddangosfa Dathliad o Beintiadau Cyfoes Cymreig sy’n cael ei chynnal cynnwys gwaith gan artistiaid sy’n byw neu eni yng Nghymru:
Charles Burton, Gus Payne, Cerys Knighton, Shani Rhys James, Amanda Turner, arlunwyr cyfoes eraill o gasgliad parhaol yr Oriel a myfyrwyr ‘Y Coleg Merthyr Tudful’.

Mae’r arddangosfa hon yn nodi dechrau cyfres o arddangosfeydd sy’n cynnwys unarddeg oriel gelf o Ferthyr Tudful i Dyddewi ac sydd wedi datblygu o gyfresi arbrofol o arddangosfeydd a gynhaliwyd yn ystod 2017 ym Merthyr Tudful a’r Clas-ar-Wy.
Cafwyd y syniad am yr arddangosfeydd hyn gan y diweddar Pete Goodridge a oedd am flynyddoedd lawer o’r farn fod yr amrywiaeth anhygoel o waith cyfredol gan beintwyr Cymreig wedi cael eu diystyru ac y dylid eu dathlu mewn arddangosfa bob dwy flynedd.
Eleni, bydd gwaith dros 100 o artistiaid yn cael sylw mewn arddangosfeydd sy’n dechrau yn Amgueddfa ac Oriel Gelf Castell Cyfarthfa a Redhouse, Hen Neuadd y Dref, Merthyr Tudful
(8fed Gorffennaf i 2il Hydref) ac yn parhau yn Oriel y Tŵr, Crucywel; Crefft yn y Bae, Caerdydd; Oriel Found, Aberhonddu; Oriel Ardent, Aberhonddu; Y Gaer, Aberhonddu; Celfyddydau’r Clas ar Wy; Oriel y Parc, Tyddewi; Coleg Sir Benfro, Adran Gelf, Hwlffordd; Amgueddfa ac Oriel Gelf Dinbychy-Pysgod.

This exhibition marks the start of a series of exhibitions involving eleven galleries from Merthyr Tydfil to St David’s and has grown from a smaller experimental series of exhibitions held during 2017 in Merthyr Tydfil and Glasbury- on-Wye.
The idea around these exhibitions was the brainchild of the late Pete Goodridge, who had for many years believed that the amazing range of work by current Welsh painters was lamentably overlooked and should be celebrated in a biennial exhibition.
This year, the work of over 100 artists will be featured in exhibitions starting at Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery and Redhouse, Old Town Hall, Merthyr Tydfil (8th July to 2nd October) and continuing at Tower Gallery, Crickhowell; Craft in the Bay, Cardiff;
Found Gallery, Brecon; Ardent Gallery,
Brecon; Y Gaer, Brecon; Glasbury Arts;
Oriel y Parc Gallery, St David’s; Pembrokeshire College, Art Department Haverfordwest; Tenby Museum and Gallery.
