Creative Writing with Karla Brading

Explore & Experiment with writing skills with local author Karla Brading!
With her First Class Honours in Creative and Professional Writing, Karla went on to become a ghost writer for Disney, as well as the author of three traditionally published children’s books – two of which are now a school resource, promoted by Arts Councils. Karla has had events at The Hay Literacy Festival, Llandudno Art Fest, the island of Gozo in Malta during a Mediterranean book tour as well as numerous school visits. The Valley of Whispers has even been adapted into a school production for Wales’ Book Slam! Karla has won Best Guest Speaker at The House 21 Awards for her involvement with encouraging and inspiring women to follow their dreams and also interviews other children’s authors for Buzz Magazine. She is currently a judge on the Vamp Film and Arts Festival for Transylvania and her fourth children’s book, The Library of Hope, is releasing August 2021!

A Shared Walk – Lost

 

A Shared Walk – Lost? acknowledges the different possibilities of experience. This exhibition brings together a miscellany of lost and found revealing or at least asking questions of our states of mind.
Our group kept in touch loosely through the pandemic and like everyone our experiences of the last eighteen months have been very different. Some of us have been busy making work while others have had other things to deal with. Vulnerabilities have been exposed, communities have been empowered, everyone has faced enormous changes. We approached this exhibition with a wish to reflect this diversity of experience – to show old and new work – and to celebrate moving into ‘live’ exhibiting as we set out a new map of our world and ourselves.
A Shared Walk is a community of South Wales based artists who seek to engage with other communities locally, nationally and internationally. We work in a wide range of media including performance, painting, ceramics, printmaking and photography.
Elements that unite us as a group and encourage the involvement of wider communities include the shared location, sharing with others through the creation of artworks, provision of workshops and the shared exhibition.

Beauty & the Beast

Following their sell-out success with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, IKP return with a brand new, “delightfully daft” (The Stage) retelling of the classic story Beauty and the Beast.

This enchanting production promises to be fast-paced, family-friendly and fun so prepare to be amazed and amused as IKP give this tale of adventure and acceptance their trademark ‘bonkers’ treatment.

This is an outdoor performance, and will take place in all safe weathers including wet weather. Please bring something to sit on.
